Fokker Elmo Engineering performed EWIS design and development projects, such as amongst others the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Airbus A380, A320NEO, A330NEO, Boeing 787, Bombardier CSeries (now Airbus A220) and numerous engine programs, such as instance for all the P&WC Geared TurboFan applications (A320NEO, Mitsubishi MRJ, Irkut MC-21, Bombardier C-Series, Gulfstream G500/600, Dassault F6X, Embraer 170/190E2, etc.).

Your Journey

To support upcoming new aircraft- and engine wiring design & development projects, Fokker Elmo is in the process of expanding her workforce with Engineers to strengthen the Engineering department. In this light, we offer you a program that enables you to develop yourself within Fokker Elmo Engineering into an independent and knowledgeable designer of EWIS. You will be able to demonstrate your capabilities in our facilities in the Netherlands or on-site at the customer.

Your Departure

The Fokker Elmo Engineering traineeship is a program with a duration of nine months, to train a group of graduates to become our next generation EWIS Design Engineers, either specialized in the field of EWIS installation design (2 positions), EWIS functional design (2 positions) or EWIS components (materials & constructions) (1 position). Our traineeship combines theoretical and practical training. We offer the opportunity to gain experience in the different aspects of wiring design.

This traineeship will start with three to four days a week training and one to two days a week learning on the job within the pre-determined development teams, with almost five days a week learning on the job towards the end of the traineeship. The traineeship consists of education in hard- and soft skills (such as communication, leadership) within the various knowledge areas of wiring design. Throughout the traineeship, we offer coaching by peers, management and the human resource department. After successful completion of the traineeship, you are able to perform (design) activities in the position of an EWIS Design Engineer, either focused on installation design, functional design or materials & constructions design and testing. Subsequently you have the ability to develop yourself and grow into a more technical- or technical team lead position within Engineering depending on your own ambition.

Your Luggage

The following “luggage” is required for the application:

  • Successfully completed a technical Bachelor study (Electrical-, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering);
  • Entry Level: Graduate;
  • Solid communication skills in the English language (verbal and in writing);
  • Team player, able to energize and motivate;
  • Perseverance, self-starter, pro-active, accurate and able to challenge others;
  • Professional behavior (Integrity, Respect, Flexibility and Commitment).

Your Destination

As an EWIS Design Engineer you will create / support wiring design for aircraft and engine applications based on requirements from the customers. For this you will be using our state of the art design toolsets. In addition, depending on your specialization, you might also be involved in the qualification of products by means of analysis and environmental (performance) testing.
